About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Telecoms Network Operations Manager to lead their network operations center (NOC) team in Oxford . This crucial role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company's telecommunications network, ensuring maximum uptime, performance, and reliability. You will manage a team of network operations specialists, implement operational best practices, and drive continuous improvement in monitoring, incident response, and service delivery. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of network operations, and a proactive approach to managing complex telecommunications environments, contributing to the stable and efficient delivery of services in the Oxford area.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Network Operations Center (NOC) team, ensuring effective shift coverage and task delegation.
- Oversee the monitoring of network performance and availability, utilizing advanced network management tools.
- Manage and coordinate the response to network incidents, outages, and performance degradations to minimize impact on services.
- Develop and implement operational procedures, policies, and best practices for network maintenance and support.
- Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to ensure smooth transitions for network changes and new service deployments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in telecommunications network operations, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios), and ticketing systems.
- Proven experience in incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a focus on team performance and service delivery.
