Telecoms Network Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Telecoms Network Operations Manager to lead their network operations center (NOC) functions. This fully remote position is critical for ensuring the continuous availability, performance, and security of our extensive telecommunications network. You will manage a team of network engineers and technicians, oversee incident management, performance monitoring, and the implementation of network improvements. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the operational strategy of a growing telecom provider from a remote setting, demanding strong leadership and deep technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of NOC engineers and support staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee the daily operations of the network, ensuring uptime, performance, and service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Develop and implement procedures for incident management, problem resolution, and change control.
• Monitor network performance using advanced tools, identifying potential issues and implementing proactive solutions.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external parties for network maintenance and upgrades.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the NOC to enhance efficiency and network resilience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Significant experience (5+ years) in telecommunications network operations, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
• In-depth understanding of network protocols, infrastructure, and monitoring tools relevant to a large-scale telecom network.
• Proven experience in incident and problem management, with a strong focus on root cause analysis.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with network security best practices and compliance requirements.
