About the Role
Our client is looking for a vigilant and proactive Telecoms Network Operations Specialist to join their Network Operations Centre (NOC) in Belfast . This role is critical for monitoring the health and performance of our client's extensive telecommunications network, identifying and resolving issues swiftly to maintain service continuity. You will work within a dedicated team, utilizing advanced monitoring tools and escalating complex problems to senior engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about network stability and performance within the vibrant Northern Ireland tech scene.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance and availability using sophisticated NOC tools and dashboards.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve network incidents and outages in a timely manner.
- Respond to alerts and alarms, escalating critical issues according to defined procedures.
- Perform routine network health checks and proactive maintenance tasks.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners during incident resolution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of NOC processes and documentation.
Requirements
- Experience working in a Network Operations Centre (NOC) environment or a similar technical support role.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).
- Understanding of core networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Ability to work effectively in a shift pattern, including nights and weekends, as part of a hybrid schedule.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly in Belfast .
