About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent Telecoms Network Operations Specialist to join their team in Portsmouth . This role is central to the day-to-day management and monitoring of the company's telecommunications network, ensuring its optimal performance and reliability. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving network issues, implementing system changes, and supporting network infrastructure. This hybrid role allows for a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, contributing to a robust operational framework within the telecoms industry .
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network performance and availability using specialized tools, identifying and escalating any anomalies.
- Respond to and resolve network incidents and service requests within agreed service levels.
- Perform routine network maintenance, including software updates and configuration changes.
- Assist in the implementation of network upgrades and new system deployments.
- Generate regular reports on network status, performance, and incident resolution.
- Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure seamless network operations and support.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Network Operations or similar role within the telecoms sector .
- Good understanding of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) is essential.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose network connectivity and performance issues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as required for critical network support.
