About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecoms Network Operations Specialist to join their team in Derby . This crucial role involves monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the day-to-day operations of their telecommunications network. You will be part of a team responsible for ensuring network stability, performance, and security, responding to alerts, and resolving incidents efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of network fundamentals and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. This hybrid position allows for a balance between collaborative on-site work and remote flexibility, supporting the continuous operation of vital network services.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using various monitoring tools and dashboards.
• Respond promptly to network alerts and incidents, performing initial diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Implement routine network changes and configuration updates as directed.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or relevant support teams, providing detailed information.
• Maintain accurate records of network events, incident resolution, and system configurations.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical network issues.

Requirements

• Experience in network operations or a similar technical support role within the telecoms industry .
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic routing/switching concepts.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
