Telecoms Network Operations Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant Telecoms Network Operations Specialist to join their Network Operations Center (NOC) team in Bristol . This role is vital for ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of our client's critical telecommunications infrastructure. You will be responsible for monitoring network performance, responding to incidents, performing routine maintenance, and supporting the overall stability of the network. The ideal candidate is highly observant, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and is committed to maintaining robust service levels in a demanding 24/7 operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using advanced network management tools.
• Respond promptly to network alerts and incidents, performing initial diagnostics and escalating as necessary.
• Execute routine network maintenance tasks, including backups, configuration changes, and software updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and service issues reported by customers or internal systems.
• Maintain accurate records of network events, incidents, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of operational procedures and best practices.

Requirements

• Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment or a similar IT support role.
• Solid understanding of telecommunications network fundamentals, including IP, routing, and switching.
• Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as part of a rotating schedule.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
