Telecoms Network Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and forward-thinking Telecoms Network Planner to join their strategic operations team in Southampton . This role is integral to the long-term development and expansion of their telecommunications network infrastructure. You will be responsible for forecasting network demand, identifying capacity requirements, and planning the deployment of new technologies and services. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of network design principles, working collaboratively to ensure the company's network meets future capacity needs and technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze network traffic data and usage trends to forecast future capacity requirements.
• Develop detailed network expansion and upgrade plans, including site selection and resource allocation.
• Create network designs and topology maps for new deployments and service enhancements.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless implementation of planned network changes.
• Assess the feasibility and impact of new technologies and vendor solutions on the existing network.
• Prepare reports and presentations on network growth strategies and capacity forecasts for senior management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in network planning, design, or engineering within the telecoms industry .
• Strong understanding of network architecture, including fibre optic , wireless, and core network technologies.
• Proficiency with network planning tools and simulation software.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Experience with capacity management and demand forecasting methodologies.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple planning initiatives simultaneously.
