Telecoms Network Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Telecoms Network Planner to join their established team in Belfast . This role is crucial for the strategic development and capacity planning of our client's extensive telecommunications network across Northern Ireland. You will be responsible for forecasting future network needs, evaluating new technologies, and creating detailed plans to ensure seamless service expansion and high availability. This position requires a strong understanding of network architecture and the ability to translate business objectives into actionable network plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop long-term strategic plans for the expansion and upgrade of the telecoms network infrastructure .
• Analyze network traffic data and performance metrics to forecast future capacity requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and solutions to enhance network capabilities.
• Create detailed network designs and implementation blueprints, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to align network plans with business goals and budget constraints.
• Prepare reports and presentations on network plans, progress, and future recommendations for senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecom network planning or design.
• Solid understanding of core network technologies such as MPLS, BGP, DWDM, and LTE/5G.
• Proficiency in network simulation and planning tools.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
