Telecoms Network Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and forward-thinking Telecoms Network Planner to join their team in Norwich . This role is integral to the strategic development and expansion of their telecommunications network. You will be responsible for designing and planning network infrastructure projects, ensuring capacity, coverage, and performance meet future demands. Working closely with engineering and deployment teams, you will translate business requirements into actionable network plans, optimising resource allocation and ensuring the efficient rollout of new services and technologies across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed network plans for the expansion and upgrade of telecommunications infrastructure, including fibre and wireless networks.
• Analyse network traffic data and capacity requirements to forecast future needs.
• Identify optimal locations for new network equipment and infrastructure based on coverage and performance objectives.
• Collaborate with site acquisition, engineering, and field operations teams to ensure the feasibility and successful implementation of network plans.
• Utilise network planning tools and software to create design schematics and cost estimates.
• Ensure network plans adhere to regulatory standards, quality guidelines, and company policies.

Requirements

• Experience in telecommunications network planning or design.
• Strong understanding of network architectures, including fibre optics, mobile networks (4G/5G), and associated technologies.
• Proficiency with network planning software and GIS tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and data.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with various teams.
