About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Telecoms Network Planning Engineer to contribute to the strategic development and expansion of their network infrastructure. This role, based in Norwich , involves forecasting future network needs, optimizing capacity, and ensuring the efficient deployment of new services and technologies within the telecoms sector. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure that network plans align with business objectives and technological advancements, playing a vital part in shaping the future of our client's communication services. This hybrid role allows for both collaborative office work and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop long-term and short-term network capacity plans based on traffic analysis and growth forecasts.
- Design and plan network upgrades and expansions, including the integration of new technologies and services.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for proposed network changes and investments.
- Optimize network resource utilization and ensure adherence to performance and quality of service (QoS) standards.
- Collaborate with network operations and engineering teams to translate plans into actionable deployment strategies.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on network performance, capacity, and future planning requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in network planning or design within the telecoms industry.
- Strong understanding of network architectures, protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, MPLS), and transmission technologies.
- Proficiency in network planning tools and simulation software is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and present findings clearly.
