Telecoms Network Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Telecoms Network Engineer to join their established infrastructure team in Norwich . This role is central to the design, implementation, and ongoing management of robust telecommunications networks. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and security of our client's network assets. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in networking principles and hardware, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex telecom environments in a hands-on capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the company's telecommunications network infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and implement preventative measures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network outages and performance degradation.
• Manage network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
• Collaborate with other IT departments to integrate telecom services with other systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional experience as a Telecoms Network Engineer .
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF) and hardware.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and performance analysis software.
• Proven ability to manage network security configurations.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills for implementation in Norwich .
