Telecoms Solutions Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and strategic Telecoms Solutions Architect to join their team based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for defining and designing the technical architecture of next-generation telecommunications solutions. You will work closely with sales, product management, and engineering teams to translate customer requirements into scalable, reliable, and cost-effective network designs. The successful candidate will be a thought leader in the telecoms space, capable of architecting solutions that leverage cutting-edge technologies and ensure our client remains at the forefront of the industry, driving innovation and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end technical solutions for telecommunications services, encompassing network, compute, and storage elements.
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business needs and define technical requirements.
• Develop detailed architectural designs, proposals, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to propose innovative solutions and improvements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Ensure solutions are designed for scalability, resilience, security, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in telecoms architecture and design, with a strong understanding of mobile (4G/5G), fixed-line, and cloud networking.
• Proficiency in network protocols, IP networking, and relevant hardware/software platforms.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, OpenStack) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects and influence stakeholders.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
