About the Role
Our client is searching for a skilled Telecoms Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their vital telecommunications infrastructure in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is key to ensuring the smooth operation of all communication systems, including telephony, data networks, and related software. You will be responsible for system upkeep, user support, performance monitoring, and implementing system upgrades and security measures. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to providing reliable IT support. You will work collaboratively with IT and operational teams to ensure seamless communication services are always available.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain voice and data communication systems, including PBX, VoIP, and network devices.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent downtime.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and support for telecommunication services.
- Install, configure, and upgrade network hardware and software components.
- Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for all telecom systems and processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator with a focus on telecommunications.
- Proficiency in managing VoIP systems, PBX, and related network infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols.
- Experience with network security tools and best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are advantageous.
