In this varied and rewarding role, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the school. Acting as a key point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, you will deliver a professional, efficient, and welcoming service in a fast-paced school environment.

Position Details:

Job Title: School Administrator

Start Date: Immediate start

Pay Rate: £13.50 - £14 per hour, depending on experience

Contract Type: Temporary for 4 weeks, with potential of extension.

Location: Sacriston, Durham

Working Pattern: Full Time, 8:30am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday

Term Time Only working pattern.

A DBS check and stringent compliance checks will be completed prior to the role commencing. Candidates with a current DBS registered on the Update Service are encouraged to apply.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are available immediately due to the urgent start date required.

Key Responsibilities

As the School Administrator, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and students. Working in a busy and fast-paced environment, you will provide essential administrative support to help ensure the smooth running of the school.

Your responsibilities will include:

Front of House: Greeting parents, staff, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.

Telephone Management: Handling incoming calls, responding to enquiries, and directing calls to the appropriate departments.

Administrative Support: Providing vital administrative assistance across various departments within the school.

Record Maintenance: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records using internal systems and databases.

Reception Duties: Managing reception duties and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors.

Organisation & Prioritisation: Managing a varied workload while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

What We're Looking For:

Previous administration experience, ideally within a school or educational setting.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

A professional, flexible, and positive approach to work.

The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
