Key Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize daily delivery schedules and routes for a diverse fleet, considering factors such as delivery windows, vehicle capacity, and driver availability.
• Utilize transport management systems (TMS) to create efficient routes, track progress, and manage exceptions.
• Liaise with drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service teams to ensure smooth coordination of all transport activities.
• Monitor performance metrics, such as on-time delivery rates and fuel efficiency, and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transport legislation, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
• Respond promptly to any transport disruptions or issues, developing and implementing contingency plans as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Transport Planner or in a similar role within the logistics or transportation industry.
• Strong understanding of route planning software and transport management systems.
• Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK, particularly the Leeds and surrounding areas.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
