About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and organized Transport Planner to join their busy logistics team in Brighton . This role is fundamental to ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods, coordinating with drivers, transport providers, and internal departments. You will be responsible for optimizing delivery routes, managing schedules, and resolving any transport-related issues that arise. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of logistics operations. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily transport operations, ensuring efficient route optimization.
- Book and manage carriers, negotiating rates and ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Track shipments in real-time and proactively address any delays or disruptions.
- Maintain accurate transport records and generate reports on delivery performance.
- Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure smooth loading and unloading processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and documentation requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience in transport planning , logistics coordination, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with route planning software and Transport Management Systems (TMS).
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with drivers and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
