About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Underwriter specializing in Commercial Lines to join their established team in Birmingham, West Midlands . Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and underwrite new and renewal commercial insurance applications, assessing risk exposure and financial viability.
• Determine appropriate policy terms, conditions, pricing, and coverage limits based on thorough risk assessment.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients, providing exceptional service and technical expertise.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting commercial insurance.
• Collaborate with claims and actuarial departments to share insights and improve underwriting guidelines.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting strategies and portfolio management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting within the insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of various commercial insurance products (e.g., property, casualty, liability).
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and risk assessment skills.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and data analysis tools.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CII Diploma) are advantageous.
