Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of insurance underwriters, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop and implement underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure sound risk selection and pricing.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and financial data to inform underwriting strategies.
- Review and approve complex or high-risk insurance applications, providing expert judgment.
- Collaborate with sales, actuarial, and claims departments to ensure alignment and optimize profitability.
- Monitor underwriting performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in insurance underwriting , with a significant portion in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, financial analysis, and pricing methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of professionals.
- Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ACII) are highly desirable.
