Urban Design Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Urban Design Architect to contribute to significant development projects in Bristol . This role requires a visionary individual with a passion for creating cohesive, sustainable, and vibrant urban environments. You will be instrumental in developing masterplans, design guidelines, and strategic frameworks that shape the future of communities. Working collaboratively with planners, landscape architects, engineers, and local authorities, you will play a key role in shaping the built environment and enhancing public spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine masterplans and strategic design frameworks for large-scale urban regeneration projects.
• Create design guidelines, character appraisals, and policy recommendations for new developments.
• Analyse urban contexts, identify opportunities, and propose innovative design solutions.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, stakeholders, and public bodies to advance urban design proposals.
• Present design concepts and strategies to clients, committees, and the public.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in Architecture, Urban Design, or Urban Planning.
• Significant experience (6+ years) in urban design or masterplanning, with a strong portfolio of relevant projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD , GIS software, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modelling tools.
• Deep understanding of urban design principles, planning policy, and sustainable development practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, crucial for projects in Bristol .
