About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Urban Design Architect to join their dynamic team in Glasgow . This role focuses on shaping the future of urban environments through thoughtful and sustainable design strategies. You will be instrumental in developing masterplans, design frameworks, and public realm strategies for large-scale regeneration projects, new communities, and urban interventions. Working collaboratively with city planners, developers, and community stakeholders, you will contribute to creating vibrant, accessible, and resilient urban spaces that enhance quality of life. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of urban design strategies, masterplans, and design codes for significant development sites.
- Analyse urban contexts, identifying opportunities and constraints for regeneration and development.
- Produce high-quality visualisations, masterplans, and design guidelines to communicate design intent effectively.
- Engage with stakeholders, including local authorities, developers, community groups, and the public, to foster consensus and collaboration.
- Ensure designs promote sustainability , inclusivity, connectivity, and place-making principles.
- Advise on planning policy and design review processes to support positive urban development outcomes.
Requirements
- Qualified Architect or Urban Designer with substantial experience in urban design and masterplanning.
- Proven ability to develop and articulate complex urban design concepts and strategies.
- Proficiency in urban design software and GIS tools, alongside strong graphic and presentation skills.
- In-depth understanding of planning systems, development frameworks, and public realm design principles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in community consultation and participation processes is highly desirable.
