Urban Designer

About the Role

Our client, a leading consultancy with a significant presence in urban planning and design, is seeking an experienced Urban Designer to join their team in Norwich . This role focuses on shaping the future of urban environments, creating sustainable, vibrant, and functional spaces for communities. You will be involved in masterplanning, design strategy development, and contributing to the regeneration of urban areas. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare urban design frameworks, masterplans, and design guidelines.
• Conduct site analysis, spatial assessments, and feasibility studies for urban development projects.
• Collaborate with architects, planners, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate design strategies.
• Produce high-quality visualisations, including drawings, graphics, and 3D models.
• Contribute to public consultations and community engagement processes.
• Ensure designs align with planning policies, sustainability goals, and client aspirations.

Requirements

• Degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Planning, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in urban design or a closely related field.
• Proficiency in urban design software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Strong understanding of urban planning principles, sustainability, and placemaking.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and public consultation is highly desirable.
