Van Technician / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic £18.00 per hour+ | Hounslow / Heathrow, West London Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm, plus alternate Saturdays, 8:00am–1:00pm Saturday Pay: Time and a half We are recruiting an experienced Van Technician / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Hounslow, near Heathrow Airport. You will work on a wide range of light commercial vehicles for established business customers and fleet operators, including Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, Ford Transits, long-wheelbase vans and other makes and models. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician with strong diagnostic abilities looking for stable, permanent employment and a consistent workload. Van Technician / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic -Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out vehicle inspections, safety checks and MOT preparation.
• Repair and replace defective components, following manufacturer guidelines.
• Complete job cards, service sheets and electronic workshop records accurately.
• Photograph damaged or defective parts for warranty purposes where required.
• Ensure vehicles are safe, roadworthy and presented to a high standard.
• Complete repairs within allocated times while maintaining quality and health and safety standards.
• Liaise with the Workshop Foreman and management to prioritise workload.
• Attend occasional local breakdowns when required. Van Technician / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic-Requirements
• Proven experience as a Van Technician, LCV Technician, Vehicle Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong mechanical, diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs with minimal supervision.
• Good communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence, ideally with fewer than six penalty points.

Desirable

HGV licence, experience in a busy fleet workshop, and familiarity with electronic job cards and warranty procedures. Van Technician / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic-What We Offer
