Viticulturist - Vineyard Management Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and passionate Viticulturist to manage their vineyards located in the picturesque countryside near Norwich, Norfolk . This role is critical for ensuring the health of the vines, optimizing grape quality, and overseeing all aspects of vineyard operations from planting to harvest. You will work closely with the winemaking team to achieve the highest standards of grape production. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all vineyard operations, including planting, pruning, canopy management, and pest/disease control.
• Monitor vine health, soil conditions, and weather patterns to optimize grape development and yield.
• Implement sustainable and organic viticultural practices where applicable.
• Manage vineyard staff, providing training and direction on tasks and best practices.
• Coordinate harvest activities to ensure grapes are picked at optimal ripeness.
• Maintain detailed records of vineyard activities, inputs, and yields.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Viticulture, Horticulture, Oenology, or a related agricultural science.
• Proven experience in vineyard management and grape cultivation.
• Strong understanding of vine physiology, soil science, and climate impacts on grape quality.
• Knowledge of integrated pest and disease management strategies in viticulture.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage outdoor operations efficiently.
• Passion for winemaking and understanding the connection between vineyard practices and wine quality.
