VoIP Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated VoIP Engineer to join their team in Nottingham . This role is essential for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of their Voice over IP communication systems, ensuring reliable and high-quality voice services for all users. You will be involved in troubleshooting complex issues, managing the VoIP infrastructure, and supporting the integration of new voice technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain VoIP systems, including PBX, SIP gateways, and softphones.
• Monitor VoIP network performance and quality of service (QoS).
• Troubleshoot and resolve voice quality issues, call routing problems, and connectivity issues.
• Manage user accounts, voicemail, and call center functionalities.
• Implement security measures to protect the VoIP infrastructure.
• Assist in the planning and deployment of new VoIP features and services.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a VoIP Engineer or in a similar telecommunications role.
• Strong knowledge of VoIP protocols such as SIP, H.323, and RTP.
• Experience with PBX systems (e.g., Asterisk, Cisco CallManager, Avaya).
• Familiarity with network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, QoS, and firewalls.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of audio codecs and voice quality metrics.
