Warehouse Automation Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Warehouse Automation Specialist to join their dynamic operations team in Manchester . This role focuses on the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of automated systems within our warehouse facilities. You will be at the forefront of adopting cutting-edge technology to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and safety in our logistics operations. This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds, combining hands-on work at our facility with the flexibility to work remotely on planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain automated warehouse equipment, including robotics, conveyor systems, and automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS).
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with automated systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all automated equipment.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimization and upgrades to improve efficiency and throughput.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on the design and integration of new automation solutions.
• Train warehouse staff on the safe and effective operation of automated systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Automation Specialist or in a similar technical role within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of robotics, PLC programming, control systems, and sensor technology.
• Experience with automated material handling systems (e.g., conveyors, AS/RS, AGVs).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Relevant technical certification or degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
