About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of their distribution center in Leicester . This critical role involves ensuring the efficient and cost-effective management of inventory, order fulfillment, and shipping processes. The ideal candidate will lead a team of warehouse staff, implementing best practices to maintain high standards of safety, productivity, and accuracy. You will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and supporting the company's growth objectives within a busy logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse associates, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and system reconciliation.
- Collaborate with supply chain and logistics partners to optimize inbound and outbound transportation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar senior logistics role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and drive operational improvements.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
