About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Warehouse Safety Officer to join their fully remote team, overseeing safety protocols for their warehousing operations across various sites, including one near Sheffield . This vital role focuses on developing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive health and safety policies to ensure a secure working environment for all employees. You will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, providing safety training, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. This position is ideal for a self-driven safety professional who can effectively manage safety initiatives remotely, fostering a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures for all warehouse facilities.
• Conduct regular site safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training programs to warehouse staff on topics such as manual handling, fire safety, and equipment operation.
• Advise management on health and safety matters and promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
• Maintain safety records and documentation, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer , preferably within a logistics or warehouse environment.
• In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Relevant safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
• Excellent auditing, investigation, and reporting skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in a remote setting.
