Warehouse Team Leader

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and capable Warehouse Team Leader to join their facility in Oxford . In this role, you will provide essential support to the Warehouse Supervisor, guiding a team of warehouse operatives in their daily tasks. You will ensure that all activities, from receiving and storing goods to dispatching orders, are carried out efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a warehouse environment, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to fostering a productive and positive team atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in overseeing daily warehouse operations.
• Lead and motivate a team of warehouse operatives, assigning tasks and ensuring their completion.
• Ensure accurate receiving, stocking, and dispatching of goods according to procedures.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety within the warehouse, addressing any potential hazards.
• Provide guidance and training to team members on warehouse processes and equipment use.
• Support inventory management activities, including cycle counts and discrepancy investigations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment, with some experience in a team lead or supervisory capacity.
• Good understanding of warehouse operations, including inventory control and health & safety procedures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and direct a team.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks as required.
• Basic IT skills, including experience with WMS or similar systems.
