About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Water Resources Civil Engineer to join their environmental engineering team in Portsmouth . This role is vital for managing and improving water infrastructure, including drainage, flood defence, and water supply systems for the region. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and flood alleviation schemes.
• Undertake hydraulic modelling and analysis for rivers, coastal defences, and urban drainage networks.
• Prepare technical reports, design documents, and environmental impact assessments related to water resources.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, water companies, and local authorities on water management projects.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Contribute to the development of water conservation and management strategies.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in water resources or drainage engineering.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modelling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, InfoWorks WS).
• Strong understanding of flood risk assessment and management principles.
• Knowledge of relevant UK water legislation and environmental regulations.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
