Watersports Instructor (Senior)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and certified Senior Watersports Instructor to join their thriving centre in Belfast . This role requires a passionate individual with a proven ability to lead and mentor a team of instructors while delivering high-quality instruction across various watersports activities, including sailing, kayaking, and windsurfing. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants, from beginners to advanced levels, and contribute to the overall operational excellence of the centre. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and safe instruction in a range of watersports , including sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
• Lead and mentor junior instructors, providing guidance on teaching techniques and safety procedures.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained to a high standard and used safely by participants.
• Develop and implement lesson plans and activity programmes to cater to different skill levels and age groups.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement emergency procedures to ensure participant safety at all times.
• Contribute to the positive and welcoming atmosphere of the watersports centre, fostering excellent customer relations.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Watersports Instructor with demonstrable leadership qualities.
• Valid certifications in relevant watersports (e.g., RYA Dinghy Instructor, BCU Level 2 Kayak Coach).
• Strong knowledge of water safety, rescue techniques, and emergency protocols.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
• Ability to manage groups of varying sizes and abilities effectively.
• First Aid certification is essential.
