Watersports Instructor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a certified and experienced Watersports Instructor to join their active centre in Oxford . You will be responsible for delivering engaging and safe instruction in a variety of watersports activities, such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing, to individuals and groups of all ages and abilities. This role requires a passion for the outdoors and water-based activities, strong instructional skills, and a commitment to participant safety and enjoyment. You will be an integral part of a team dedicated to providing memorable experiences on the water.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned watersports, ensuring participant safety and enjoyment.
• Plan and prepare sessions, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and in good condition.
• Assess participant abilities and adapt instruction accordingly.
• Maintain a high standard of safety and risk management during all activities.
• Conduct routine checks and maintenance on watersports equipment and facilities.
• Assist with the promotion and booking of watersports sessions.

Requirements

• Relevant national governing body (NGB) qualifications for the watersports offered (e.g., RYA, British Canoeing).
• Previous experience as a watersports instructor.
• Strong knowledge of water safety, rescue techniques, and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Current First Aid certification is essential.
