Watersports Instructor

About the Role

Our client, a popular watersports centre located on the stunning coast of Plymouth , is looking for enthusiastic and certified Watersports Instructors to join their seasonal team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and ensuring the safety of participants across a range of watersports activities, including sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. This role requires individuals who are energetic, safety-conscious, and passionate about sharing their love for the water with beginners and experienced enthusiasts alike. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a beautiful coastal setting in Devon .

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and safe instruction for various watersports activities, including sailing , kayaking , and stand-up paddleboarding .
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants, enforcing rules and safety procedures effectively.
• Conduct regular checks on equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
• Assist in the setup and pack-down of activity equipment and areas.
• Provide excellent customer service, creating a fun and welcoming environment for all visitors.
• Maintain accurate records of participant attendance and progress.

Requirements

• Relevant National Governing Body (NGB) qualifications for watersports (e.g., RYA instructor certifications).
• First Aid at Sea or equivalent certification.
• Previous experience in teaching watersports to diverse age groups.
• Strong swimming ability and good physical fitness.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and encouraging attitude.
• A genuine passion for watersports and outdoor activities.
