Well Intervention Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Well Intervention Engineer to join their offshore operations team, based out of Portsmouth . This critical role involves planning, designing, and executing well intervention operations to maintain and enhance production from existing wells. You will work closely with offshore crews and onshore support teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of tasks such as workovers, completions, and artificial lift installations, often involving extended periods offshore.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and design well intervention programs, including workovers, completions, and artificial lift systems.
• Develop detailed procedures and risk assessments for all intervention activities.
• Manage the procurement and logistics of necessary equipment and services.
• Supervise well intervention operations offshore, ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.
• Monitor well performance post-intervention and recommend further optimization.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and production teams to identify intervention opportunities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Well Intervention Engineer or in a similar oil and gas engineering role.
• Strong understanding of wellbore construction, completions, and artificial lift technologies.
• Experience with well intervention equipment and procedures (e.g., coiled tubing, wireline).
• Excellent project management and execution skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a demanding offshore environment.
• Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
