About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Sports Development Officer to promote and develop sports participation among young people in the Bristol area. You will design, implement, and manage engaging sports programs and initiatives aimed at increasing activity levels, fostering talent, and encouraging healthy lifestyles for children and teenagers. This role involves working closely with schools, community groups, and local sports clubs to create accessible opportunities and build a sustainable pathway for youth sports development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-quality sports coaching sessions for young people across various disciplines.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase youth participation in sports and physical activity programmes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, parents, community organizations, and NGBs.
- Organize and manage youth sports events, festivals, and competitions.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, reporting on participation rates and outcomes.
- Identify and support talented young athletes and coaches, fostering their development.
Requirements
- Experience in youth sports development , coaching, or a related field.
- Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g., FA, ECB, UK Athletics coaching badges).
- Strong understanding of safeguarding children and young people in sport.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, and travel within the region.
