Youth Support Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a passionate and motivated Youth Support Officer to join their team in Sunderland . This hybrid role involves working directly with young people, offering guidance, support, and access to opportunities, with a blend of in-person sessions and remote check-ins. You will be instrumental in empowering young individuals to build confidence, develop life skills, and overcome challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Engage with young people through various channels, including face-to-face interactions, phone calls, and online platforms.
• Provide guidance and support on issues such as education, employment, health, and well-being.
• Facilitate group activities and workshops designed to enhance life skills and social interaction.
• Identify individual needs and develop tailored support plans in collaboration with young people.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of interactions and progress.
• Liaise with parents, guardians, schools, and other relevant agencies to ensure comprehensive support.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people, preferably in a youth work, education, or social care setting.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with young people from diverse backgrounds.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
• Proficiency in using digital tools for communication and reporting.
