Youth Support Worker - Outreach

About the Role

Our client is seeking an energetic and motivated Youth Support Worker to join their outreach team in Belfast . This role focuses on engaging with young people in the community, providing guidance, support, and positive activities to help them navigate adolescence and develop essential life skills. You will work with a diverse group of young people, building rapport and offering a safe space for them to discuss concerns and aspirations. Key Responsibilities

• Engage proactively with young people in various community settings, including youth centres and public spaces.
• Provide informal mentoring and guidance on issues such as education, employment, and personal development.
• Organise and facilitate youth activities, workshops, and group sessions.
• Build trusting relationships with young people, acting as a positive role model.
• Identify and address potential risks or safeguarding concerns, escalating appropriately.
• Collaborate with parents, schools, and other youth support services to ensure holistic support.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people, preferably in a youth work or community setting.
• Passion for youth development and a good understanding of adolescent issues.
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of young people.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Youth Work) are advantageous.
