Youth Support Worker

About the Role

Our client seeks an enthusiastic Youth Support Worker to join their Community & Social Care team in Belfast . This role is dedicated to providing guidance, support, and positive engagement opportunities for young people, helping them to develop life skills and achieve their potential. You will work within a structured framework to create a safe and supportive environment, fostering personal growth and addressing challenges faced by young people in the Northern Ireland area. The successful candidate will be a positive role model committed to youth empowerment and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with young people, building rapport and trust to provide effective support.
• Organise and facilitate youth activities, workshops, and programmes designed to build skills and confidence.
• Provide guidance on issues such as education, employment, health, and personal well-being.
• Support young people in accessing external services and resources when needed.
• Monitor youth progress and behaviour, reporting concerns and achievements to supervisors.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all young people participating in programmes.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people in a support or mentoring capacity.
• Understanding of adolescent development and common challenges faced by youth.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse young people.
• Patience, resilience, and a non-judgmental approach.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training and safeguarding procedures.
