Youth Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and caring Youth Support Worker to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in Reading . This role involves providing guidance, encouragement, and practical assistance to young individuals, helping them navigate adolescence and develop essential life skills. You will work closely with youth to foster their personal growth, promote positive behaviours, and ensure their safety and well-being within the community. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about youth development and empowering the next generation in Berkshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and mentoring to young people, addressing their social, emotional, and practical needs.
• Organize and facilitate engaging activities, workshops, and educational sessions for youth.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people and their families.
• Monitor and support young people's progress towards personal development goals.
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people, in a youth club, school, or support setting.
• Understanding of adolescent development and common challenges faced by youth.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
• Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 in Youth Work or Health & Social Care are preferred for this role in Reading .
