About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Support Worker to join their team in Sheffield , working directly with young people aged 11-18. This role involves providing guidance, support, and positive role modeling to help young people navigate the challenges of adolescence, build resilience, and achieve their potential. You will engage with youth in various settings, offering assistance with personal development, education, and social integration. This is a hands-on role for someone committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with young people in a positive, supportive, and non-judgmental manner.
• Provide guidance and support on issues such as education, employment, health, and relationships.
• Organize and facilitate group activities and workshops designed to build life skills and confidence.
• Act as a positive role model, promoting healthy behaviors and responsible decision-making.
• Support young people in accessing relevant services and opportunities within the community.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and any concerns, adhering to safeguarding policies.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.
• A good understanding of adolescent development and common challenges faced by youth.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with young people from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends as required.
