Our client is seeking a passionate and committed Youth Support Worker to join their dedicated team in Southampton . This role is focused on providing guidance, support, and positive engagement opportunities for young people, helping them to navigate challenges and achieve their potential. You will work directly with young individuals, fostering a safe and nurturing environment within the Hampshire community. This is a hands-on role requiring significant client interaction and the ability to build trusting relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with young people, building rapport and providing a consistent point of contact and support.
- Organise and deliver a range of activities and programmes designed to enhance personal, social, and educational development.
- Provide advice and support on issues such as education, employment, housing, and personal well-being.
- Support young people in developing life skills, promoting independence and resilience.
- Work collaboratively with parents, guardians, schools, and other agencies to ensure a holistic approach to support.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and any safeguarding concerns, adhering to organisational policies.
Requirements
- Experience working with young people, either in a professional or voluntary capacity.
- Understanding of the challenges and issues faced by young people today.
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and assertive in challenging situations.
