Youth Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Youth Support Worker to join their team in Portsmouth . This role involves engaging with young people, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for personal development. You will work within community settings and potentially offer some remote or hybrid support, helping young people navigate challenges, build positive relationships, and achieve their potential. Key Responsibilities

• Engage with young people, building rapport and trust.
• Provide guidance and support on issues such as education, employment, and personal well-being.
• Organise and facilitate group activities and workshops for young people.
• Support young people in accessing relevant services and opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress.
• Work collaboratively with parents, schools, and other agencies.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people in a youth or community setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate young people.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection.
• Flexible approach to work, including some evening and weekend commitments.
• Relevant qualifications in youth work, social care, or education are advantageous.
