About the Role
Our client, a studio celebrated for its immersive and visually rich game worlds, is looking for a skilled 3D Environment Artist to join their creative team in Derby . You will be responsible for creating detailed and engaging 3D environments that bring our game worlds to life. This role involves crafting everything from sprawling landscapes to intricate interiors, ensuring visual consistency and artistic quality. Working within a hybrid model, you will collaborate closely with concept artists, level designers, and technical artists to build worlds that captivate players and enhance the overall gameplay experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Model, texture, and integrate high-quality 3D assets for game environments.
- Collaborate with concept artists and level designers to translate visual targets into 3D assets.
- Optimize environment assets for performance and memory usage within the game engine .
- Implement lighting and post-processing effects to enhance the mood and atmosphere of environments.
- Ensure artistic consistency and adherence to the project's art direction.
- Assist in creating environmental props and set dressing to populate game levels.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience as a 3D Environment Artist in the game industry.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max) and texturing tools (e.g., Substance Painter, Photoshop).
- Strong understanding of PBR workflows and material creation.
- Experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
- A keen eye for detail, composition, and architectural forms.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment , collaborating with both local and remote team members.
