Adventure Sports Instructor

About the Role

Our client, a leading provider of outdoor adventure activities, is seeking enthusiastic and qualified Adventure Sports Instructors for their centre in Plymouth . This dynamic role involves delivering a range of thrilling activities such as climbing, kayaking, and coasteering to diverse groups, including schools, corporate clients, and families. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants, providing expert guidance, and maintaining equipment to the highest standards. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about the outdoors and sharing their love of adventure with others in a stunning coastal environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction and supervision for a variety of adventure sports activities.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, adhering to strict risk assessment and management procedures.
• Conduct pre-activity briefings and equipment checks, ensuring all gear is in excellent condition.
• Adapt coaching styles to suit different age groups, abilities, and group dynamics.
• Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of adventure sports equipment and facilities.
• Provide an engaging and positive experience that encourages participants' confidence and skill development.

Requirements

• Relevant National Governing Body (NGB) qualifications for specific adventure sports (e.g., RYA, BCU, MLTB).
• Proven experience in delivering adventure sports instruction to various client groups.
• Current First Aid certification (e.g., Outdoor First Aid 16 hours).
• Strong understanding of outdoor risk management and emergency procedures.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for outdoor activities and a commitment to safety and participant enjoyment.
