About the Role
Our client, a leader in the aerospace industry, is seeking a dedicated Aerospace Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative team based in Southampton . This role involves contributing to the design, development, and testing of critical mechanical systems for next-generation aircraft and space technology. You will work within a collaborative environment, applying cutting-edge engineering principles to solve complex challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and develop mechanical components and systems for aerospace applications, including structures, mechanisms, and propulsion systems.
- Utilize advanced CAD/CAE tools for detailed design, simulation, and stress analysis of aerospace components.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with stringent aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100) and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including aeronautical engineers, materials scientists, and systems engineers, to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, test plans, and manufacturing instructions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues throughout the product lifecycle, from prototyping to in-service support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design within the aerospace industry .
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and FEA tools.
- Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and relevant industry standards.
- Experience with vibration analysis, fatigue analysis, and thermal analysis in an aerospace context.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
