About the Role

Our client, a leading agricultural consultancy based in Coventry, West Midlands , is seeking a qualified Agronomist to join their dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide expert advice to farmers and growers on optimizing crop production, soil health, and nutrient management to enhance yield and sustainability. You will conduct field assessments, analyze soil and plant samples, and develop tailored recommendations that address specific agronomic challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed field inspections to assess crop health, soil conditions, and identify potential issues such as pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
• Analyze soil, water, and plant tissue samples to provide accurate diagnostic information and formulate evidence-based recommendations.
• Develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) and sustainable nutrient management strategies for various crops.
• Advise clients on best practices for cultivation, irrigation, drainage, and crop protection to maximize yield and quality.
• Stay abreast of the latest research, technologies, and regulatory changes in agronomy and agricultural science.
• Maintain accurate records of field visits, analyses, recommendations, and client communications for a comprehensive understanding of the Coventry farming community .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrable experience as an Agronomist or in a similar agricultural advisory role.
• Strong understanding of plant physiology, soil science, entomology, and plant pathology.
• Proficiency in using soil testing equipment, diagnostic tools, and agricultural software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and client-facing communication skills.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies is a plus.
