About the Role
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable Agronomist to join their team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for advising on and implementing best practices for crop production and soil health across various agricultural projects. You will work closely with farmers and farm managers to analyze soil conditions, develop fertilization and pest management strategies, and improve overall crop yields and quality. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct soil analysis and provide expert recommendations on fertilization, soil amendments, and crop nutrition.
- Develop and implement effective pest and disease management strategies for a variety of crops.
- Advise on crop rotation, planting techniques, and harvesting methods to optimize yield and quality.
- Monitor crop performance and field conditions, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
- Stay updated on the latest research, technologies, and regulations in agronomy and sustainable agriculture.
- Collaborate with farmers and stakeholders to promote best practices and achieve agricultural goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Agronomist or in a similar agricultural advisory role.
- Strong understanding of soil science , plant physiology, and crop production.
- Familiarity with integrated pest management (IPM) and sustainable farming techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively advise clients and colleagues.
