Agronomist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Agronomist to join their agricultural support team based near Bradford, West Yorkshire . This role focuses on providing expert advice to farmers and growers on crop production, soil health, and sustainable farming practices. You will be responsible for assessing soil conditions, recommending fertilizers and crop protection strategies, and helping clients optimize yields and profitability while adhering to environmental standards. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct soil analysis and provide recommendations for nutrient management and soil improvement.
• Advise on crop selection, rotation, and cultivation techniques to maximize yield and quality.
• Develop and recommend integrated pest, disease, and weed management strategies.
• Monitor crop development and provide timely advice on agronomic interventions.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in agricultural science and technology.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

Requirements

• Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related scientific field.
• Proven experience in providing agronomic advice, ideally within a consultancy or farming context.
• Strong understanding of plant physiology, soil science, and crop protection.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
• A driving license and willingness to travel across the agricultural area around Bradford .
