About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Aircraft Performance Engineer to join their engineering team in Oxford . This role is critical in analyzing and optimizing the performance of aircraft across various flight conditions, focusing on areas such as fuel efficiency, range, speed, and payload capacity. You will utilize sophisticated modeling tools and real-world flight data to provide insights and recommendations that enhance operational efficiency and aircraft design. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze flight data to assess aircraft performance characteristics, including climb, cruise, and descent profiles.
- Develop and refine performance models to predict aircraft behavior under various environmental conditions and operational scenarios.
- Identify opportunities for performance improvements to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Support the development of flight planning tools and provide performance-related guidance to flight operations.
- Collaborate with design and maintenance teams to translate performance analysis into practical engineering solutions.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on aircraft performance findings and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience in aircraft performance analysis or flight dynamics.
- Proficiency with performance analysis software and tools, including MATLAB or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and flight mechanics.
- Experience with handling and analyzing large datasets from flight operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
