About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Aircraft Performance Engineer to join their engineering team in Oxford . This role is critical in analyzing and optimizing the performance of aircraft across various flight conditions, focusing on areas such as fuel efficiency, range, speed, and payload capacity. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze flight data to assess aircraft performance characteristics, including climb, cruise, and descent profiles.
- Develop and refine performance models to predict aircraft behavior under various environmental conditions and operational scenarios.
- Identify opportunities for performance improvements to enhance fuel efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Support the development of flight planning tools and provide performance-related guidance to flight operations.
- Collaborate with design and maintenance teams to translate performance analysis into practical engineering solutions.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on aircraft performance findings and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience in aircraft performance analysis or flight dynamics.
- Proficiency with performance analysis software and tools, including MATLAB or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and flight mechanics.
- Experience with handling and analyzing large datasets from flight operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
