About the Role
Our client seeks a dedicated and skilled Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join their maintenance facility in Cardiff . This role is vital for ensuring the structural integrity and airworthiness of our aircraft fleet through expert repair and maintenance. You will work with various materials, diagnose structural issues, and perform precise repairs, contributing significantly to flight safety and operational reliability. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect aircraft structures for damage, corrosion, or defects, utilizing visual inspection techniques and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Perform repairs and modifications to aircraft airframes, wings, and fuselage components using approved procedures and materials.
- Fabricate and install structural components, ensuring precise fit and adherence to specifications.
- Interpret structural repair manuals , engineering drawings, and blueprints to guide repair processes.
- Document all work performed, including inspections, repairs, and materials used, in the aircraft maintenance log.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations and company safety protocols.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as an Aircraft Structures Mechanic or similar role.
- Proficiency in working with various aircraft materials such as aluminum alloys, composites, and steel.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, riveting, and welding techniques.
- Ability to read and understand structural repair manuals and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of aircraft structural integrity and fatigue principles.
