About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and capable Arable Farm Operative to join their team in Belfast . This role is crucial for the effective cultivation and management of arable crops on a commercial farm. You will be involved in all stages of crop production, from soil preparation and planting to harvesting and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with agricultural machinery and a strong work ethic, contributing to the smooth running of farm operations throughout the seasons.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a range of agricultural machinery, including tractors, drills, sprayers, and harvesters.
• Assist with soil preparation, including ploughing, cultivating, and fertilizing.
• Carry out planting and sowing of arable crops according to schedule and best practices.
• Monitor crop health and growth, identifying and reporting any issues such as pests or diseases.
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides safely and efficiently, adhering to all regulations.
• Assist with harvesting operations, ensuring minimal loss and optimal quality.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a farm operative or machinery operator in an agricultural setting.
• Competence in operating and performing basic maintenance on tractors and farm machinery.
• Knowledge of arable crop cultivation techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical health and willingness to undertake manual tasks.
• Relevant agricultural certificates or licenses are advantageous.
